Photo processing and privacy

You control when a photograph is sent for analysis. Selecting a file, adjusting its crop, previewing clothing colours and removing its background do not send the photo to the recommendation service.

When you choose photo analysis

After you agree and select “Analyse my photo”, the confirmed crop is re-encoded to remove file metadata and sent through our Vercel-hosted processing service to OpenAI. OpenAI’s vision model produces colour observations and a clothing recommendation. An additional-photo check sends only the photographs included in that check. The service does not identify you or generate or retouch your portrait.

The site does not save photographs, facial landmarks, cutout masks or sampling coordinates on a server. The analysis request asks OpenAI not to save response history. This is not a promise of zero provider retention: OpenAI can retain abuse-monitoring data for up to 30 days, with exceptions including longer retention for legal or safety reasons. Image safety review and prompt caching have separate retention rules. OpenAI states that API content is not used for model training unless the account opts in. Network providers necessarily handle connection information such as your IP address. The service uses short-lived, pseudonymous counters to limit requests and spending. It does not intentionally log photographs, request bodies, colour recommendations or provider response bodies. There are no new advertising or analytics trackers.

What stays in this tab

The selected portrait, original decoded photo, sampling coordinates and optional cutout remain in memory until removed, replaced, refreshed or closed. Cancelling an analysis stops waiting for its result; it cannot retract a photo already sent to the processing provider. Extra photographs are released when their check finishes or closes. Your selected draping portrait remains available until you remove it.

What is saved on your device

The saved palette contains catalogue colours, brief explanations and the method version. If you approve a combined result, it may include a derived summary of agreement between photographs. Saved clothing colours and favourites are stored separately. None of these records contain the photographs, masks, landmarks or raw facial samples. Delete your palette or saved items from the guide, or clear this site’s browser storage to remove them.

Local tools and manual estimates

Clothing photo sampling, colour matching, draping, card exports and manual-input estimates run in your browser. Optional face-area suggestions and background removal download approximately 30 MB of runtime and model files from this site on first use; the photograph is processed locally for those features. These downloads may remain in your browser cache.

You can browse saved palettes and use local clothing tools without agreeing to external photo analysis. Recommendations are a working guide affected by photographs, lighting and personal preference; they have not been independently validated by colour consultants.
